Yamaha Marine Returns as Major Sponsor
Anglers from across Australia, young and old, experienced and inexperienced, are gearing up for the Lake Mulwala Cod Classic.
The 2023 edition of the classic event will take place 1-3 December on the waters of the picturesque twin towns of Yarrawonga and Mulwala, nestled on the New South Wales and Victoria border - home to the Murray Cod.
Spearheaded by Yamaha, a major sponsor of the annual fishing classic that celebrates the opening of Cod fishing season, the 2023 event will see the team from Yamaha Marine taking its displays, prizes, and activations to new levels.
A highlight of the Australian fishing calendar for more than two decades, the Cod Classic draws passionate fishermen and women from around the country, transforming the tranquil waters of Lake Mulwala into a bustling hub of fishing activity brimming with excitement and camaraderie. More than just a fishing competition, the Yamaha Cod Classic embodies a genuine local community spirit. The event's proceeds support the local Australian Rules football club, resonating with Yamaha Motor's corporate mission to engage with community events and the boating and fishing community.
Anglers attending this year's event can expect a massive Yamaha presence in the expo area, with a range of Yamaha products and innovations on display. Working in collaboration with local Yamaha dealer, Solar City Marine and Caravans, five portable outboards will be matched to five Quintrex boats, and given away as competition prizes.
Additionally, Yamaha Motor Finance (YMF) and Yamaha Motor Insurance (YMI) will provide five Yamaha packs filled with Yamaha parts and accessories, each valued at $400.
The Yamaha Land Mobility team will also be in attendance for the first time with its come and try arena, providing youngsters with the opportunity to take a ride on a Yamaha fun bike under the supervision of Yamaha's bLU cRU coaches. The two-wheeled machines are sure to add an extra layer of enjoyment to the festivities. Other Yamaha activations include the popular Yamaha photo booth, where visitors can be photographed holding Yamaha's famous trophy Cod.
The Yamaha team will also be out on the water using their latest Yamaha powered Skeeter boats and JetFish-equipped FX HO Yamaha WaveRunners, testing out their capabilities and offering attendees a firsthand look at these new technologies.
The 2023 Yamaha Cod Classic promises to be a spectacle of angling expertise, community spirit, and family fun, making it an event not to be missed.
